SINGAPORE — Horwath HTL Pacific Asia has appointed Shyn Yee Ho-Strangas as Director, with the travel and hospitality industry leader returning to the firm after more than a decade in senior global and regional leadership roles across technology, real estate and online travel.
Based in Singapore, Ho-Strangas brings over 20 years of international experience spanning hospitality advisory, online travel platforms, property technology and data-driven business transformation. She previously worked at Horwath HTL between 2007 and 2010, where she served as Senior Consultant and Assistant Director.
Following her earlier tenure at Horwath HTL, Ho-Strangas held senior leadership positions at Expedia Group, where she drove strategy, global market expansion, and consumer and enterprise product management initiatives. She later joined PropertyGuru, then a New York Stock Exchange–listed, Southeast Asia–focused property technology company, where she was a member of the senior executive team.
At PropertyGuru, Ho-Strangas built and led the Data and Software Solutions business unit, spearheading efforts to advance data and technology innovation across the real estate sector. Across her career, she has led large, cross-functional global teams, often with a focus on innovation, transformation and technology-led growth.
Commenting on her return, Ho-Strangas said she was looking forward to working with clients across the region as the hospitality and tourism sector navigates rapid change. “Tourism is a key source of GDP growth for many Asian countries, and developing a sustainable and resilient tourism sector is critical,” she said. “With more than 40 years of experience in this region, Horwath HTL is well positioned to support industry stakeholders as they navigate a rapidly changing environment accelerated by technology innovation and disruption.”
Matt Gebbie, Director at Horwath HTL, said Ho-Strangas’ return strengthens the firm’s advisory capabilities across hospitality, real estate and technology. “Her return brings an exceptional blend of technology expertise in real estate and hotels, deep knowledge of online travel agencies, and hands-on hotel operations experience,” Gebbie said. “This combination enhances our ability to deliver practical, future-focused advice that bridges innovation with real-world hotel performance.”
In her new role, Ho-Strangas will lead client engagements across the full lifecycle of hotel and tourism development, including the inception of Horwath HTL’s newly launched Technology Practice. She is also a frequent speaker and thought leader at industry conferences including Hotel Investment Conference Asia Pacific (HICAP), World Cities Summit, Economist Impact forums, and Web In Travel (WIT).
Beyond her professional work, Ho-Strangas serves on the Executive Committee of the Asia Pacific Outdoor Lodging Association (APOLA) and is a Board Director of Smiling Gecko Singapore, a non-profit organisation focused on sustainable development initiatives in Cambodia.
